The Cartographers: Indie / Electronica / Shoegaze

The Cartographers were created in Rome by vocalist/guitarist Laura V. Proenza, who moved the band to San Francisco while interning for the Rondo Brothers. She then moved to Los Angeles to further pursue her music career as a Production Coordinator at Zoo street music. In her first months in Los Angeles she met Scarlet Newman-Thomas (All Neon Like and Mutaytor) who joined the Cartographers and encouraged the self-released E.P, Concrete and Outerspace. Soon after they invited Thomas Mauler (White and the Riding, the Vanishes) and Amelia Acker to join the Cartographers. This collaboration has led The Cartographers to be unstoppable creative machines, extruding notes from the groups that inspired them; M83, New Order, Hot Chip, Arcade Fire and artist Bjork. The Cartographers have played The Echo, the Smell, Spaceland, Echo Curio, Silverlake Lounge and more with amazing artists like Rachel Cantu, Lovers, and The Western States Motel.
