Surina Khan

Surina Khan is Vice President of Programs for the Women’s Foundation of California, a public foundation that involves women and girls in creating a more just and equitable society. The foundation works to fund innovative organizations, strengthen the effectiveness of social justice leaders and organizations through conferences and research, and engages in policy advocacy towards long-term systems change.

Prior to joining the Foundation, Surina was executive director of the International Gay and Lesbian Human Rights Commission and a research analyst with Political Research Associates, a think tank and research center that monitors the political Right, where she also serves on the editorial board of its journal, The Public Eye.

Among her many community involvements, Surina is on the board of directors of the Funders Network for Population, Reproductive Health and Rights; a member of the steering committee of the Los Angeles chapter of Asian American Pacific Islanders in Philanthropy; a member of the advisory council of the National Center for Lesbian Rights and on the National Advisory Council of the Lesbian Health & Research Center, University of California, San Francisco.
